• Translation of the first contract (compromis de vente or sous-seing privé) and advice related thereto

• Inheritance advice

• Basic taxation advice

• Translation of and advice in relation to powers of attorney

• Other assistance and advice in respect of the purchase or sale process or ownership issues

• Liaising with the notaire and the French agent on behalf of the client

• Checking of the final deed signed upon completion (acte authentique)

In addition, the following services, available either at the above hourly rates or subject to a separate quote, can be provided:

• Attendance at the completion and other meetings (subject to distance)

• After sales advice and assistance

• Translation of miscellaneous and legal documents, forms and letters

• Assistance with settling French probates

• Will drafting

• Advice and assistance to property sellers

• Post completion advice on inheritance and ownership structures, including lifetime gifts

• Assistance with transfer of ownership, for example due to divorce.

NB: The all inclusive package rate for leaseback schemes and/or purchases involving multiple purchasers (e.g. 3 friends or 2 couples) is £ 1,200 and for commercial properties (e.g. hotel) £ 1,600.
Please note that the above rates are subject to French VAT where applicable at the prevailing rate.

Payment can be made in sterling in the UK or in euros in France. The determining of the GBP/EURO exchange rate will be made at the time of invoicing.
NB: For fixed fee packages, the reference currency/figure is that quoted above, namely GBP. For services provided on an hourly basis, the reference currency/figure is that quoted above, namely EUR.

Using our services 

If you wish to engage our services, we recommend that you contact us as soon as you have found a property to purchase, have accepted an offer for the property you are selling or upon becoming aware of any potential issues which may affect your rights and obligations in relation to the ownership of property.

We have made the process as straightforward as possible to enable us to commence work as soon as required to do so.

After having obtained the necessary information from a prospective client, we will issue a written service agreement (by e-mail, fax or post) confirming the service(s) that we will provide and the price.

With the agreement, we will also provide a client care policy which will define the terms under which the work will be undertaken.

Prospective clients are welcome to see a sample copy of these documents before committing to anything, simply contact us.

To retain maximum flexibility, we do not require the making of any payment prior to commencing work and we issue an invoice upon provision of the agreed service(s), under the terms of the aforementioned contract.
